This is another picture of the Wild Black Current in full blossom. Jacob is 6 foot 4 and with the Cowboy hat and boots, probably about 7 feet tall. this is a perfect size for a fully matured Wild Black Current plant. For a plant to reach this size, starting from a small shoot takes approximately 30 years. The Wild Black Current will produce a large amount of leaves which are used for a wonderful very therapeutic tea, and have been used for centuries by the North American Indigenous People. One problem to the plant is it requires copious amounts of water in order to produce an abundance of leaves and fruit. This plant usually grows in draws and hollows and by bodies of water. Unfortunately, finding this plant in the wild is becoming increasingly difficult because this plant has no tolerance to herbicides or pesticides or contamination of the soil.
